WHERE THE STORY BEGAN

Before it became a full-cast cinematic podcast, 20 Storeys Down began as a top-five independent comic on ComiXology, created by Nick Tatman and illustrated by Marc Olivent.

The original 20 Storeys Down comic introduced Sergeant Jack Tudor as a mysterious figure operating beneath modern-day London.

Covertly hiding within the Houses of Parliament and searching the abandoned tunnels below the city, Jack was drawn into the rescue of a hijacked Underground train while pursuing clues to Henry VII’s lost library.

Reviews of 20 Storeys Down Issues One and Two

As 20 Storeys Down grew beyond the original comic and developed into a larger audio story, its central ideas began to demand a different setting. Jack’s story was recast in London in 1899, placing him inside the period that had previously existed only as buried history. The lost passages, secret factions and shadow war became his present rather than his inheritance.

The podcast retains the comic’s subterranean world, historical mystery and sense of dangerous discovery, while building a larger story across two eras.
